abundance of precaution warning: if you have small kids don't buy these. if you absolutely need them treat them as you would a dangerous weapon or toxic liquid.

Pictures say they have a 3 year shelf life. That's awfully low for a lithium battery.

They come in such high quantities because you need to replace more often compared to major brands like Duracel or Energizer.

To put a little more context, small children swallow random stuff. Per children's hospital of Philadelphia there are over 2500 button battery ingestions a year. Button batteries have their terminals close together. When in the esophagus the terminals are so close they
will conduct and will cook the tissue so to speak. This is a medical emergency requiring a trip to the operating room to remove it after confirming if there is a button battery with X-ray. If there is a chance this has occurred you should have the child swallow some honey and go to the ER. Even with prompt intervention it cause future complications. Some of the brand names make the battery bitter with a coating to discourage this.

Anywho, just keep your button batteries secured away from small kiddos.

Does nobody have common sense anymore? Lock this or anything else that you don't want small children to have access to up. If parents 100 years ago were as stupid as parents today, the human race would have gone extinct.
