Everyone's utility function is different, even if it is driven by hype. That said, I wouldn't consider ANCs that help you with on-demand silence and helps with productivity or a more pleasurable flight a hype - if those use cases don't apply to you, this product will always been less appealing, irrespective of price.

It is. They generally drop to around $280 regularly a few months after release.

I just remember getting XM4s for like $160 and the regular price being in the $300 range. This was a few years ago of course.

People may remember basic Yomega yoyos selling for $60-100.

It's HYPE. Every generation has their Furbies/Elmo/PowerRangers/Pokemon/Yugioh

if you watch the price history on the xm4s and xm6s the price goes down to 280 around 1 year after release which would be october this year for xm6s which im waiting for
also the refurbished price would prob be a lik closer to 200 during that time fyi

Rtings review : https://www.rtings.com/headphones...wh-1000xm6
Side by side vs XM5 model : https://www.rtings.com/headphones...3313/33024
Rtings gives them 9.9 score for noise isolation - common scenarios. That is highest score of any ANC headset.

I have these. They are very nice, but the cups are a little shallow and the ANC components in the cups that stick out will poke the ears sometimes

$350 was the release price for the XM4. Accounting for inflation that is now $436.

Absolutely would turn around the flight gate if I forgot my ANCs. I'd never fly without a pair. Wink

I am reading mixed answers here. Why are we mentioning XM4 pricing? the OP is XM6 is like 2 generations newer.
