Depends on which inverter you get you can connect to it via RS485 via Solar Assistant and read battery and inverter data into Home Assistant.
Curious if you've done that before. Do the serial connection allow you to control as well as get status? Like can you set the state of charge you would like (50%, 80%, 100%)? Or at least turn charging on/off via command if you can calculate state of charge on your own?
You can set all the parameters on the inverter that you're able to on the screen, so yeah you can set a max and min SoC. Now keep in mind that to my knowledge no one has been able to get the close loop communication working on the batteries and the inverter. Even though the marketing material and EcoWorthy's videos show using a CAT5 cable to link the inverter and battery together for closed loop control it doesn't seem to actually work and their tech support is unable to provide details on how to do it either. On that topic too, if you get one expect everything short of replacement parts to be forum and community support, EcoWorthy sells these units as a bundle but seems to have no idea how to get them to play nicely with each other in active comms/close loop mode.
Is there any way for me to leverage these (or any non-PW3) battery system? I only went with Tesla at the time since it was paid for 100% by my utility, but now I'm afraid I'm locked into the ecosystem. The PW3 doesn't last the entire night and I'd like to add capacity for us to be truly self-sufficient in the event of a power outage.
Everything I could find on this inverter points to a company called MUST Energy or Voltronic Power as the maker of the inverter. I cant recall ever hearing of either of them. The description makes it seem pretty capable though.
