How is it absurd since they are equal to or even better than AirPods Max in some regards? Did you use them before?
They are not better than the airpods max, more importantly they are definietly not better than the the Sony XM4s and Bose QCs I have. So coming in at $250 it does make more sense since once can argue that it does looks better. The ANC is nowhere enar as good as the others I mentioned and I never got BT multipoint to work. Also the app is very basic. Still, its very well built and looks stunning. tldr; $500 not worth it, $200-$260, worth a consideration

I am looking for something with style. I dont think that anyone would notice these.
It depends on what you are looking for to be honest. If you are in the Apple ecosystem and you already have the Max I would personally wait until they get cheaper or better yet get the Dyson Zone for 199 at woot or less if you can find them.
Sound wise the Max are more clinical, like you hear the very fine details in songs. Speaking from experience with the Dyson Zone, they are just more fun sound headphones. Fun is the best word to describe the sound signature which should be identical to the Ontrac.
The ANC I think is better on the Zone because of the pressure of the clasp, the OnTrac I only tried on in the mall for a limited time and well they where used and abused so I dont think its a fair comparison but they did seem lacking but again thats something that treated worse than a rental car.
Remember you get two years warranty on them from Dyson so your covered and one does get the benefit of modularity so you can get different colors etc but that does come at a price. Personally wait a little bit more for them to drop in price then get them.
