Very strange (almost deceiving) of the OP to not mention the details of the display. It's a TN display, not even IPS. For that it's a pretty bad deal at $499.

It means the display is absolutely horrible and the viewing angles are garbage. These panels are normal on sub-$250 laptops at $500 it's absurd.

For anyone that needs to "crunch numbers" in Excel and basic web browsing and email, this machine should fit the bill, regardless of the display....but yes, I do agree that the display could have been better....

The 250 nits is a tip-off. Nothing at 250 nits should retail over $400, that's a budget Chromebook brightness.

Agreed. The spec says it's TN, and does not mention 45% NTSC either.

The screen is not good, but that processor absolutely screams. I purchased a laptop with the same screen specs, and a slightly slower processor earlier this year and it's been ok - the screen sucks but you get used to it.

However, I paid $280. Gotta agree, this should not be $500 with this screen.

38 Wh battery is extremely small for that processor. Expect <3 hours of battery life.
