Isn't AM6 not expected to be released until 2027 but more than likely not till 2028/2029? If so that ain't no where near "around the corner". Now BF, yeah that's close enough that if you don't need something to wait.

Still trying to decide if this is worth it for me to upgrade my 2600x. It seems to do what I need, and having a 1060 6gig, don't think I would see any real improvement.
I know the 5500 is faster and lower power, but not sure I would notice the difference for how little I use it (I use my laptop for most stuff).

One reason AMD might do that is to avoid another slow start with expensive memory situation. And it's probable that with a better DDR5 memory controller and faster DDR5, it will be fine even for 32 cores.

People been hodor the lime for so long it spoiled from a 2023 $100 samsung 980 pro 2tb heatink to a 2025 $140 990. Things don't get drastically cheaper, eventually the lowering cost of tech gets limited by constraints in tech advancements, labor, logistics, world economies, infinite human factors. So it doesn't necessarily get better always, it's in ups and downs. 2020-2023 was the cheap up good time to buy for ssds at least, but for all others parts it was bad. Hodor the lime is speaking in bad faith unless you can guarantee everyone can get good deals at the right time.
