the app is nice with a lot of easy to use features.
unless you have the need to setup your own firewall rules and setup specific forwarding rules, this will work fine.
if you however want to do gaming, I wouldn't recommend this due to latency issues.
Also, know you'll be setting this up with a mobile device, like Android and iOS. Which can surprise some less tech savvy users.

Also on a side note, this system heavily relies on the app, you can't do much through the web interface with it so a lot of the settings and monitoring is done by the app which requires a TP-Link account.
