I don't have the alienware one but got this one from Costco during the last deal and have been happy so far! Text fringing took a little bit to get used to, but using Better ClearType Tuner helped. I also do gaming/work about 80/20. I thought I would not like the 800R curve, but I did not notice it AT ALL since getting it. My previous monitor was 1000R
