Stick with Polk. It goes down to 24hz. This 12" is rated at 29Hz. have the 10" version of this sub, rated to 32Hz. Any movie that has audio lower than 32Hz and there is audible sub distortion. Movies with very low lows like Nosferatu, Intetstellar, are bad and make me feel like my sub is broken

I literally just bought the polk xt12 since it was in the $250 price range and now this deal. Thoughts on what to go with? The klipsch has more power for starters

Doesn't Klipsch have a reputation for having bad amps? Reddit pushes SVS and RSL speedwoofer but they start at $600. Premium audio isnt cheap. This is tempting but Klipsch is always overpriced anyway so take the discount with a grain of salt.

I was wondering the same thing - this says 'all digital', which makes me wonder if they switched to Class D plate amps, while the previous ones were class A/B?
I'm not sure, to be clear. But it would be good to know if the current plates still have issues.

my old 10" smoldering amp and frozen woofer can attest to this.

Don't go based on power alone. Most people dont realize, that to sound twice as loud, you need 10x the power. So you would need to go from 100 watts to 1000 watts to get twice as loud. For speakers, other things are more important, like speaker sensitivity and the tuning frequency. Both the Klipsch and Polk mentioned are entry level subs, but I would side with the Polk. Has a beefier flared port and on paper it digs deeper.
