I have this for my apartment. I had low expectations because the Amazon rating was a bit low but it has been solid without any issues. The only things I can think of:

1. A bit loud when it's locking / unlocking. But it's not *that* loud (not enough to bother anyone) and also how often are you unlocking / locking the door???

2. There is like a 3-5 second lag between placing your finger onto the sensor and the door recognizing it / opening the door. It's slow enough to make you wait, but given it's wireless I guess that's the price you have to pay.

3. No HomeKit which was a big deal until I forgot about it.

I did way too much research months back when I was looking for a lock, for the price (I got it for $112.40 with tax for the lock itself) it's basically the only option if you want a fingerprint sensor, allowing you to keep the OG key, and not having to mount a massive obvious device on the outside of the door.

Avoid ALL Yale or any locks with a Bridge.
It'll crap out eventually.
Ask me how I know....

my uloq fingerprint sensor crapped out after about 3 or 4 years. otherwise it's been fairly reliable.

I assume it's because it fits over existing deadbolts.

To be an apartment lock, maintenance must be able to use their master key to enter the apartment. So this lock only changes the inside on the lock leaving the outside the exact same. There are other locks that change the outside portion also but have a "pinhole" that will allow maintenance to set the lock tumbler to the existing key.
I installed this lock (without the keypad) at my daughter's apartment 3 weeks ago. She and her roommates say it works well and no issues. I suggested that they leave a key in their car or backpack just in case. And yes, it is a loud lock.

I've had this lock for about a year and it's been pretty solid. Outside of having to cycle the power on the bridge every 6-ish months, it's surprisingly been more reliable than I expected. Also it uses 4 AA batteries which have lasted me roughly 4-5 months. I also was able to add it to HomeKit thanks to a great Home Assistant integration for Yale and HomeKit.

contrary to most comments, I have a 5-year-old Yale with August and a bridge that has worked flawlessly including the proximity sensor which Auto unlocks the home and locks when I leave.

Love that thing, and not a single glitch in 5 years.

I just replaced the four AA batteries every 8 to 12 months or so.

The Yale keypad with fpr is trash. It works maybe half the time, even when I enter the code manually.

My apartment had a Yale smart lock. I hated it, the ux was beyond frustrating. It would die spontaneously every few months. I had the apartment replace it with a brand new unit and guess what, same thing kept happening. The lock is supposed to tell you out loud when it begins to run low but it never actually does (yes, it was programmed correctly). There is no backup, if the lock is dead you're F'd. The touchpad also siezes up randomly. Lastly, when I had to call locksmiths upon the lock dying, it was surprisingly weak. A single flathead screwdriver is able to push the deadbolt in. I would never buy a smart lock for a property if I wasn't renting.
