The QM8K, (yes I know this post is about the QM7K), rivals the best OLED tvs. In fact, mini LED will be better if you have a ton of sunlight in the room.
With that said, we are going to see have HEAVY discounts on the QM6K, QM7K, and QM8K with the QM9K being released in the US very soon.

Yeah I am hoping to pick up a 75 inch qm8k, if not qm7k, for 1k in next few months. Now that would be a good deal. At 1500, you might as well go for a 65 oled. The LG c5 65inch has gone under 1500 a few times.

I've had the 2023 QM8 pretty much since it became available to buy from Best Buy and I still love it!

Brian's Tech Therapy video on the QM9 a couple days ago was jaw dropping. Their processing and motion handling still needs work though

My QM7 is MASSIVELY improved with motion handling with the new firmware updates. I'm incredibly sensitive to stutter and judder, and the older firmware was borderline unwatchable for me. My motion issues are completely gone now. They won't update the 2024 models automatically, since it puts them so close in performance to the new models. You have to update it via USB. Even though you have to update it manually, it's approved by TCL, so doesn't void the warranty. Here's the updates for the QM8: https://www.avsforum.com/threads/...59375I%27d TCL stopped pushing updates for our TV's, but the QM8 and QM8K run the same firmware. I recommend sticking with the latest OTA update on that site. The Beta firmware can be sometimes buggy, and it's more of a pain to downgrade firmware than it is to update. V201 is the firmware that fixed the motion issues, greatly improved the OOB calibration, and added "FilmMaker Mode". The latter updates made incrimental improvements. V231 just came out, but I haven't updated to it yet.

My TV hasn't gotten an OTA update, other than a service update a couple months ago, in over a year. So I'll have to dig my USB out and update the firmware

FYI, this has gone up to $1697, basically up $200 across all sites carrying this TV.
