I don't have the Meater, but do have this. It's been very reliable and most importantly accurate in line with my thermapen. Battery life is great. You do need a large enough piece of meat to take advantage of all the sensors.

I have the single probe version and it's decent, but there are a lot of connectivity issues and some frustrating bugs with the software. It has gotten better, but I always plug the base in to charge right next to the grill/smoker to help ensure it's stays connected. I got the single probe one for maybe ~$30. Definitely would not pay this much.

I have both the first generation single probe Meater+ and the ChefIQ 2 probe model. They both can be connected online to track but the main reason I use the ChefIQ more is it doesn't rely on AAA batteries, and the wifi capability is native to the dock... My meater model requires a Bluetooth to the dock always to leech off the smart phone or tablet to send wifi data. Not a huge issue if you're always next to the grill, but I like to do others things when I'm smoking meat.

I and many others (smoking and BBQ subreddits) have issues with meater. unreliable devices. mine no longer connects so it's pretty much useless.
