Good question, I guess I would have to ask one of the employees who work there, you know, the ones who earn a pay check to put food on the table for their families…
Most money taken in by the high end designer bike shops goes to the white collar and bureaucratic class of highly paid people. Hate to tell you but the same is true for most home improvement and service economy jobs. Most of that money goes directly into upscale and rich neighborhoods and only brings more riches to the already rich.

In my area the high end bike shops are in Potomac, Bethesda and Annapolis. Areas full of the very rich already living large liftestles paid for by taxes on the working class. They do not have to look for value like the working class does as they support themselves by way of taxing me. The woman that handles ordering paper products in my county school system makes $480,000 and the guidance counselor making $365,000 a year can head to downtown where I can not afford a sandwich and buy a $6000 ebike.

If you go to the more blue collar and poorer neighborhoods you will see real middle class and poor people trying to make living selling and servicing bikes and most all are Chinese bikes like we see here and sell for much more reasonable prices.

Why do do you only want to support the white collar corporate and bureaucratic types and to starve the poorer people becomes the question.

Good for you, put those overpaid school employees (lol) in their place, along with those other greedy members of your community by spending your money directly in China. Helps us speed up the race to the bottom. Wouldn't want to drag it out.

Im sorry Sir...There I thought this was slickdeals.net. People come to save money. AND I thought this thread was one about a Chinese ebike...made by a Chinese company...with Chinese parts. on a Chinese web site...Too bad nobody can utilize this thread by buying it.. or risk running the United States into a depression...

UNLESS you are a bike shop... then it's OK..

I may partially agree with you. But other people went on a rant crapping on local businesses and people who work in education. Hello crabs, welcome to your barrel. Enjoying being at the bottom.

The people I mentioned do not work in education they are highly paid bureaucrats milking the taxpayer in a county where the average salary is near $100,000

Bottom of the barrel is school system rigged as welfare for the rich where a bureaucrat makes $500,000 pushing paper yet a teacher gets $50,000.

In that system that is rated one of the better in my state less than half of kids are proficient at grade level in math and reading. Yet all kids magically catch up somehow in 12th grade graduate and get a diploma.

We have another city district where 85% of kids that graduate are basically functional illiterate and unable to read or do the simplest of math. They have the one of the highest budgets at $24,000 per year per pupil. A few months back in that district on an average morning six kids going to school were shot and it hardly made the papers as it has become a commonplace occurrence.

I'm interested to hear that you support and dare not hear any criticism of such race to the bottom systems and it is only my choice to buy a China ebike is what is going to collapse our nation.

I think it is status thing. We disgust them for buying direct from China but when they go to the bike shop, Costco, Macys, Home Depot or Apple to get their china goods they are dressed and priced up so they feel fine buying them. The extra money spent needlessly buys the most important thing of all the class distinction between the rich and working class. College degrees are a similar product.

Think they are all just a bit angry that the ebike that was exclusively the realm when expensive is now a almost an commodity and the poor can afford them. The carriage class hated the Model T for the same reason. The irony is that this class will do all they can to stop any factory being built. They do not like the working people near them.

I also like how they ignore that 99.5% of all the deals here are China goods yet buying an ebike from Ali will destroy us a country.

Quote from E4300 :
It depends on the design of the brake lever and brake pads. Brake pads with high coefficient of friction can lock up the front wheel without much effort. Move the brake lever closer to the center of the bar so than when you apply the brake, the applied force will be at the end of the level to provide much higher clamping force at the brake pads.

Also be aware that maximum stopping power occurs when the rear wheel is barely touching the ground. Experience cyclists rarely touch the rear brake, especially in the rain. Transfer the front brake lever to the side of your good hand. I remove the rear brake on all my bikes and switch the front brake lever to the right to optimize brake modulation in emergency stop.
Er.. what.. we rarely touch the front unless we need to stop in an emergency. You lock up the front your toast.
Road bikes have like no grip in the rain. Our tires are very slick. When it rains sometimes we will even spin our tires if we're out of saddle climbing.

If you have hand issues obviously do what works, but if you ride more than 1 bike..or if your ride motor bikes... That muscle memory is important

Bike might be Chinese but there's at least some a shimano shifter and derailer . I haven't really looked at what the gear set is but I'm sure that's shimano also . So some Japanese parts but probably made in china 😂

What specific bike shop(s) do you go to? Or this all just based on fear of interacting with people?

"The average salary for a school counselor is $65,515 per year in Annapolis, MD." Did you front load the salary you quoted by an extra $300k on purpose or by accident?

Why do high performance motorcycles have twin discs at the front? Because at maximum braking force, all the weight shifts to the front tire. The maximum braking force is the coefficient of friction between the road and tire x weight of bike and rider.

This physics also applies to cars. The front disc brakes are always much bigger than the rear brakes. The front discs are always ventilated. Front pads last 50 to 70 percent shorter than rear pads due to the need to convert most of the kinetic energy to thermal energy.

Become a cop. Get free high performance driving lesson. In the meantime, practice straight line emergency stops on your bike, using only the front vs only the rear. It doesn't take much effort to lock the rear tire. A pro can modulate front brake pressure to the point where the rear wheel is barely touching the ground.
