You can put as many cool names after HP as humanly possible and it's still going to be HP at the end of the day. These laptops have been a pure nightmare the last 10 years and only getting worse. I've returned two that were supposedly top of the line and ran like a turtle with a rabbit on his back.
That's not true at all, I have the last gen HP Envy x360 i5 and it's a workhorse of a laptop, can't complain 👍🏼

Completely agree. Something has happened to HP products in general. Bad management comes to mind. Among other things. I hate their shit now.

I love my 4 year old Black Friday 1650 HP lappy. ETA prime did a video on it as a kick ass emulation device.. still going strong

Anything HP I refer to as "Huge Pile" at work. Chromebooks, printers, laptops, desktops, etc. Most of this equipment is supposed to be "Business class" and it is awful. The consumer grade stuff is even worse.

I'm batting about .333 with Bestbuy's open box. They have wasted my time by listing 2 year old floor model OLEDs as "excellent open box" on their site. I shutter to think what their "fair" is like.

I did do well with an Ipad Pro though.

I got the 32 GB 4070 model of this for $870, amazing little laptop so far! A little under powered compared to other similar laptops, but realize what you are buying.
If you don't need an ultra thin gaming laptop that charges exclusively through Type C (140W), and a somewhat good battery life (outside of gaming)laptop buy a Lenovo instead. Maybe even a G14, both will out perform this HP thanks to it gimped wattage on the GPU.
But besides those negatives, I still love mine because it is a smoking deal for an ultra light and portable laptop.

Good to know that HP is still pushing out the same garbage they did in 2007 when I was in college. Highest failure rate of any of the laptop manufacturers, something like 25-30% after 4 years. There was a class action lawsuit where they settled by providing a $100 Compaq laptop as a replacement.

Your laptop is better than this deal. This is for the 4060 model with only 16gb of RAM and just like your laptop the RAM is soldered. That being said, the Omen 14 has its GPUs kneecapped by being under powered. You can flash a vbios to give the GPUs more power if you're adventurous and comfortable with that.

from AI- The 65W power limitation creates substantial performance penalties compared to properly powered RTX 4060 laptops:

20-30% performance reduction versus 115W RTX 4060 implementations

Comparable to RTX 4050 performance in many scenarios due to power restrictions

Significant frame rate losses in demanding titles, with the gap widening at higher settings
