Supers are pretty much announced, i would wait. All have more and better memory configurations.

Easily 70+% faster. The problem is 12 GB of VRAM will be limiting going forward. I don't know if I'd buy a card with less than 16 GB at this point if I was spending >$500.

Is 2% off worth the price?

I would say no. 12gb for more than $500 is just bad in 2025. Also if the rumors are to be believed, supers will come out next month at the same price points with vram increases and the 5070 will get an unofficial $50 price cut to $499

rumor has the super will use the 3G memory modules instead of 2G (so 18G for 5070 Super and 24G for 5070 Ti super, along with 15% performance boost), for the same MSRP, 550 and 750.

given that people has little issue buying the card at MSRP nowadays, I would just wait for the super to be released at this moment.

Get this: the market price for GDDR6 VRAM is $2.60 per GB. It would cost Nvidia no more than $10.40 to add 4GB VRAM to these cards. Let that sink in.

The 5070 uses GDDR7, not GDDR6. They don't seem to be bandwidth constrained so maybe swapping to GDDR6 or GDDR6X would have been helpful. But at least GDDR7 will allow them to hit 18 GB with the same number of modules (6) on a 192-bit bus.

Nvidia did make a budget Blackwell card with GDDR6: the RTX 5050 8 GB. If there were any savings, they didn't pass it along to the consumer, setting the MSRP just $50 below the far better RTX 5060.

its pretty much RTX 3090 with half the VRAM and new 4x frame gen in supported game.

Agreed, it's such a prick move to cripple this card to 12gb. It's almost as bad as Nvidia and AMD selling those 8gb GPUs

If youre really trying to buy a card at this moment it feels like the 9070 non-xt at $550 is better mainly due to 16gb vram (although this doesnt sit well with me either since the faster 9070xt msrp was technically $600....)

Solid cards, was a decent upgrade from my 3070.. easy choice vs spending $1,000 or hunting for stock forever. If you need something now, need an upgrade and don't want to torture yourself or wait it's not a horrible deal.. especially at MSRP. (That's the only price I would pay for mine.)

agreed, coming from a 3060 12gb, really nice card, especially when using dlss and frame gen. Impressed so far.
