I just called best buy via telephone and they price matched the 83" G4 to $3299 to amazon price. This worked out great for me as I have tons of high$$ BB gift cards to use up!! I figured this may work for someone else who may have a similar situation for a PM or buy it straight from Amazon..

i was waiting for LG G5 for this price, maybe next year?
keeping in mind the G5 has some serious HDR10 banding issues/factory defects on them. no idea if it is 100% fixed by Fw .. they are using a new type of oled screen on the G5, I'll stick with the proven Mla screen on the G4. The G3 in 83" did not have the much better mla screens. It was not until the G4 that the 83" got the Mla screens. Of course all things "Tv" will drop in price once the new ones come out.. However, $3,000 seems to be the floor on the G series from all the previous years clearance sales/deals/pricing..
also, the G5 uses 60% more electricity then the G4, that's a big fail by LG in my opinion for it to use that much more electricity! The electric rate by me has gone up about 35-40% the past 2 years so that makes a difference when the Tv uses 60% more power... most won't even notice that the G5 is 15% brighter but a huge power hog..

Ordered this for $3200 the other day but it was sold by Beach Camera. Already shipped. Didn't want any FOMO lol
Anything around that price is a deal as it is $3240 at the Lg partner store right now with the extra 10% off coupon but it's out of stock.... G4 was top of the line for 24', MLA and is energy efficient compared the the 60% increase in electrical use of the new G5... that made me go with the G4... I don't need it to be another 10-15% brighter as the G4 it's already very bright as I have the 65" G4 for gaming, etc..

Where are you getting your info regarding the G5 using 60% more electricity? Searching around does not confirm this and actually reports the opposite that the new RGB tandem panel is more efficient than the G4 MLA. Can't find an official spec difference however

The new G5/C5 are power hogs!! Here are the #'s between the 83" G4 vs G5. Your paying a lot more electricity for that extra 10-15% more brightness!! Keep in mind when your watching hdr/dolby vision or gaming your going to be at MAX consumption..
G4
Power Consumption (Max)233 W
G5
Power Consumption (Max)380 W
That is 63% more electricity used on the G5 when watching most things in HDR/Dolby Vision/Gaming or when you have it's brightness turned up.. The C5 vs the C4 is just as bad.

I would not go by that. rtings is a very trusted site for actual real world specs on tv's that many people use here, go to there links, scroll all the way down and you will see the max power consumption as recorded by them. Of course, Lg is not going to put the "real" max #'s but use some the "avg" yearly which means they put it on eco mode to get that # to make it look good kind of what some car manufactures do with the ev range on the cars when they are always less range then stated. I trust rtings actual #'s then what Lg is peddling:
