Too bad they don't have the 120 volt version this time. These units are easy to install yourself and don't need high amperage draw wire.

main item that the average handy homeowner does not have would be a vacuum pump, they can be rented at local car part stores, I purchased my own. first one took me about 3 and 1/2 hours. install one a few weeks ago in less than an hour and a half for a family member.

Same. Same. Super easy DIYable item. Yes, vacuum pump, gauge set, nylog $10, and brick masonry diamond bit (for me) to make large hole is all it took to install this.

One of these days I am going to get one of these just need to find someone who will install at a reasonable price. Enclosed a porch and this would 100% help make the room useable all year around. Just right at 750 sq ft so think I want to go the 24,000 route and deal with the electrical change.

Good luck. Hvac and plumbers charge ridiculous price nowadays. A friend of mine was quoted $10k for one unit. That's like $7k for labor cost. Then I gave him someone I know and the price dropped down to $500 for labor only.

Just buy the 120v version directly from costway. It's the same price.

Yeh that is steep but everything is calculated somehow. I don't think they just pull random numbers out of their you-know-what... companies have their overhead and they charge based on profit margins. Anyway. That sounds ridiculously high.

A dab of nylog on fittings. Assemble. Open valves. Crack a line open for a second or two and the lines will be clear.. You are only purging the lines themselves and the evaporator coil. Most systems have plenty of refrigerant and the loss will not affect the operation whatsoever. This process has been done many, many times. (it worked for me.Advice from a friend. 5 years going strong on a Pioneer system) FWIW

This is called the F--- Off price. They don't want to deal with it but they also don't want to say no to you. This unit is installable by a handyman, its perfect for their line of work. A busy HVAC guy can make more doing true HVAC related jobs.

Just a note that this one has the refrigerant in the unit, not pre charged lines, like Mr cool does. I prefer it in the unit myself anyways since you can cut lines to size.
