I bought the purple version earlier this year. Plays the first CD you put in fine, but if you immediately follow it with another cd, you might have issues.
Say for instance the first CD you play has 12 songs. If your next cd has 15 songs, it will still register only 12 songs on the next album and skip the last three songs. A simple work around for this is just turn the player off between cds, but it annoyed the heck out of me.

I have something similar in the garage. I think I paid $20 for it 20 years ago.

I won this at a company Christmas party 20 something years ago but in black. It's a tank, the only cd player i have that will play over most scratches.

Link does not work. It is available but you need to search Sylvania Proscan Elite Portable CD Boombox with AM/FM Radio on Woot.
I bought one. I have lots of CD's but no working player.

it's true. I'm 45 and shit like this was old and gross in the 1900's. Garage sales were full.of these things for $5 even back then.

What kind of CDs do you think they had in 1900-1909?
