Pretty sure these were going for $80 with trade-in a few weeks ago.

Yes but the difference is in the trade-in. Here, it is any watch, the other offer was watch 5 pro, watch 6 classic etc.

I would say no unless pricing gets to the $50 range, just to have more TIV for the next gen

Hardware is the same other than the antioxidant "color sensor"

Honestly they occasionally do "any smart watch" with higher tiv so you can get the latest model for relatively cheap just by buying a $10 "smartwatch" online

Does trade in need the proprietary cable? I have an older fitbit where we lost the cable and would not buy a cheap replacement but can if necessary.

No, the trade in should not require the charging cable or any accessories. I normally even keep the Samsung Watch bands when trading in old for new models but don't think the old bands work on the new models.

yeah, super annoying. I have a Pixel 10 and the Samsung Ultra Smartwatch and they do NOT communicate with each other. I am unable to pair them.

it explicitly states the item has to be in good condition.

I just saw on the Samsung support thread they said they're aware of what is causing it and Google will be releasing an update to fix it, no ETA however.

I think it looks significantly better than the watch 7, and more comfortable too (oddly).
feels slightly faster from what i remembered.
I returned the watch 7, because it didn't feel enough of an upgrade from my watch 4, but I kept the watch 8 because it feels a lot more 'premium'
