I bought this August 2024 from Amazon...the panel literally died about 2 weeks after warranty was up...great until then ..
Sorry... but you didn't buy this TV. The QM7K series wasn't released until March 2025.

First off, it's OLED, not O-LED. Second, Mini-LED is not in the same ballpark. OLED is significantly better. However, Mini-LED is still really good technology, but not every Mini-LED TV is created equal. The best thing you can do is look up reviews on Rtings.com. That site is the gold standard for TV, monitor and sound system reviews. You can even type in something like LG C5 vs Samsung S90D (or whatever TVs you want to compare) and it will bring up a page where they do a side by side comparison. They don't review every single TV out there, but they get all of the more popular ones. They actually pay for everything they review, instead of getting stuff as gifts, for potentially biased reviews. Here's their review of this TV. https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/tcl/qm7k

I just purchased the 65" QM7K from Walmart last week and it is a very impressive TV for the price. This is my first Mini-LED TV and although not as black as our Sony OLED, it's still a solid TV in this price range! As with any TV, I highly suggest using a soundbar or separate surround sound system as the Bang & Olufsen audio is not good. The B&O branding makes it seem impressive until you actually hear it.

You will have to sit 5 feet from it MINIMUM. Terrible viewing angles even translate to poor performance at close viewing distances. I see dark corners up to 5 feet away dead centered!

That's interesting, because last year's QM7 with Onkyo speakers had some of the best tv audio I've ever heard.

Maybe it's my older age but I've gotten pickier regarding audio quality. I only use TV audio as a last resort. The lower frequency range for TV audio just can't compare to a dedicated sub (even a cheapy one). The mid- to high frequency range on the B&O TV speakers are fine but nothing to write home about.

Is this worth the price difference from the QM6K model? I see that one is priced at around 499 right now. Is the upgrade to the next series worth it for the 120 odd dollars? I know its subjective to the buyer. but what are some potential differences to consider.

The main difference is that the TCL QM7K is a more premium, high-performance TV with significantly higher brightness, more local dimming zones for better contrast, improved color volume, and superior performance with glare and ambient light, while the QM6K is a value-focused TV offering good picture quality for its price point, with less extreme brightness but better out-of-the-box accuracy in some modes. The QM7K also features a more premium design and better built-in audio, making it the better choice for most users, especially for HDR content.

I don't use tv speakers, but I do test them when I purchase one. The best tv speakers I have heard are in my plasma tv. However, I have Atmos systems in my rooms.
