And for a $270 laptop, that's absolutely fine, considering everything else is above this price point.

The 16" screen is also considered non-upgradable, as is the CPU, GPU, and tons of resistors, capacitors, and various ICs on the motherboard. There have been times where it would have been nice to upgrade those on various laptops I've owned, but I was unable to, so I had to buy a new laptop or live with what it came with.

These things are not removable because that adds weight, cost, reduces reliability (sockets are less reliable than factory soldered pins/BGAs), increases power consumption, etc.

What exactly is your point? If "upgradability" of individual motherboard components is important to you (at the expense of the other stuff I listed BTW), go buy a machine that has it? Do you seek to upgrade these components on your smartphone?

Adding RAM is less and less a "thing"; for most use cases adding RAM doesn't add performance, it just reduces battery life. If you need more than this thing has to offer, you probably will want a better processor anyway.
