Actually, it's a bit simpler than it may seem. Office LTSC does get updates, just not the same kind as Microsoft 365.
It receives security updates and bug fixes, so the system stays stable and protected. What it doesn't get are new features or interface changes that Microsoft rolls out from time to time in 365.
LTSC is meant for people who value reliability and consistency without constant changes.
And honestly, how many new features do we really need in Word? Most people use the same core tools anyway.

Worst case, the key is disabled at some point. I've bought this type of keg many times and Ive never had that happen. I believe these types of companies will give you a new key if it expires within a certain timeframe, but again I've never had one stop working.

Do your research, at this price, legitimacy is in question.
I did. Bought this deal and replaced office 2013 with 2024. Worked like a charm.

My access databases imported without error too. It's good to question gray market ms office keys but from my experience this vendor has been legit. Also bought ms visio keys.

If you are the type that likes to upgrade hardware on your computer a lot, be aware that you many end up with a vendor license. Meaning that it ties the license to your hardware at the time of installation.

I have a 2021 that stopped working when I upgraded the video card, and could not get it to re-activate. While an office license is cheap, this time I elected to give LibreOffice a try for my home computer (so far, so good), since I only really use it for basic Word and Excel tasks.

Seems too good to be true. The site has a 4.8/5 on Trustpilot, but is Trustpilot reliable?
No. It's pay to play. Complete scam.

I did one of these "gray market keys" before. Just got an alert that I needed to activate it. Granted, this was on a new machine that I probably hadn't activated it yet. Tried to do it -- both phone and internet... and both methods failed, saying it wasn't a valid product.

Since I needed to activate ASAP (only a few days left), I pulled the trigger on this. Got the key right away. Activated over the internet with no problem.

Just FYI, for retail version, the license can be added to your Microsoft account, but I don't think you can do that for LTSC. And there is no 3PC license for retail. So most likely it is LTSC. It should be added to the deal description to avoid confusion. For those already purchased, if you can post part of the license, say last few letters, then we can know if they just sell the same LTSC license over and over again...

It says it is LTSC on my registration page. Microsoft Office LTSC Professional Plus 2024.

But whatever, it installed and works so I'm happy and was simple. If I overpaid I can at least say it was easy.

Comparing BBB to Trustpilot is laughable. BBB will investigate consumer complaints brought against its members. Trustpilot removes members' bad reviews.

I'm still rocking my MS office 2016 Home Use Program (HUP) that I got from my work perks for $10. Contemplating moving to this now

The license is probably real and provides a real MS product; however, please note this is an LTSC license. I bought this from another vendor and found out the hard way. That vendor, like this one, didn't say it was LTSC. I don't get updates, help doesn't work, etc.
Actually, it's a bit simpler than it may seem. Office LTSC does get updates, just not the same kind as Microsoft 365.

Correct. LTSC 2024 is the only current MS office alternate option to a monthly 365 subscriptions. And while new feature updates are not provided, the security/bug coverage extends for a period of 5 years after the release date. This support termination date is also referred to as the "end of life " date.

This has been the case for every non-subscription Office product going back almost 20 years ago to Office 2007. For example, this offering...LTSC 2024... will receive updates until Oct 2029. The previous offering...Office 2021...will receive updates until next year in Oct 2026. For the prior offering... Office 2019... updates ended in Oct 2023. Here's a link to a chart showing End of Life dates for all MS Office products:

https://endoflife.date/office.

I've been using these non-subscription Office suites for almost 15 years going back to Office 2010 and have never missed the "feature updates" shiny glitter that MS wraps around the 365 subscription. However my only complaint about the 2024 version is that MS in all of its wisdom has decided to remove Publisher. My wife...who really hates change... has used it for years and is crushed that it's going away. So I have a year to work on some alternatives for her but it's not going be fun.
