Actually, it's a bit simpler than it may seem. Office LTSC does get updates, just not the same kind as Microsoft 365.
It receives security updates and bug fixes, so the system stays stable and protected. What it doesn't get are new features or interface changes that Microsoft rolls out from time to time in 365.
LTSC is meant for people who value reliability and consistency without constant changes.
And honestly, how many new features do we really need in Word? Most people use the same core tools anyway.

Worst case, the key is disabled at some point. I've bought this type of keg many times and Ive never had that happen. I believe these types of companies will give you a new key if it expires within a certain timeframe, but again I've never had one stop working.

Not sure if anyone has already mentioned this, but there are major caveats with this "deal".

Lifetime means the life of the install, not your lifetime. If your drive fails, or you just want to wipe your drive and reinstall for some reason, you're out of luck.

IOW, these are SINGLE INSTALLS ONLY. If they said "single install only" it wouldn't be as attractive, but on a positive note it is good for the life of that install. And it means you don't have to use that 365 garbage where you pay every month and MS is always "in your business"...

Careful with this one. The recommended installer download link is NOT coming from Microsoft. I purchased it, but going to use the MS Deployment tool directly from Microsoft using the code I go post purchase.
