I did this the last time they offered this promotion, I think it was over July 4th. The earnify app (which is owned by BP) never paid out the rebate it promised, and their customer service was terrible. Word of caution: if you do this promotion, be prepared to be stiffed.

To clarify in case you're thinking I didn't probably follow the instructions which is why I didn't receive the promised discount, I did to the letter: creating a user profile on the dumb earnify app, registering my card used to make the fuel purchase, and linking my prime account to it. Still nothing after the fact payment-wise. Good luck!

when I went into the app at the gas station it took the $1 off the price of gas instantly before i started pumping. There was no rebate. If in the future it doesnt tak it off instantly something is not right and your not going to get it after the fact.

You can fuel 2 cars in one transaction! Just have the other person pull up to the pump before you put the nozzle back.

These fuel apps are miserable to use in New Jersey. Attendants who speak no English routinely don't know how to apply rewards via card swipe, scan, or keyed entry. Some rewards (Wawa) don't apply at all. The lone exception is Quickchek -- easy for everyone to use.

Last time I told a BP attendant who spoke little English to fill a 2gal canister plus my vehicle. They filled just the canister and I lost out on applied rewards. Customer no-service ghosted me.

Best to just get out of your vehicle and fill yourself as they yell at you -- something many NJ motorists do.

Have you tried not living in New Jersey? I find that helps with this issue

The app sucks. It fails often. However, as long as it recognizes the station and you pay with a card that is tied to the app, it usually works. I've received the discount that way. It happened today also. Put in the pump number and got an error, but after I handed the card to the cashier, the price came down.
