How does this compare to the excellent open box from Best Buy at 1812? Seems like that one is oled plus 2 tb

Noob question here, why wouldn't someone buy this instead of a similarly spec'd desktop? As in would this give you all the same power the desktop does but add in portability and would you still get the same image quality connecting a cable to a high end monitor like the GX9? TIA

I have this laptop from back in July when they did the same sale price. It's a quality laptop with the only two complaints I have are the up and down arrow keys being smaller. Moreover, the boot up time is 10 seconds when my Legion Lenovo that I sold off from 2021 was half of that. When I asked HP about it, apparently they are looking into a fast boot option for the firmware in the future.

You said it yourself, portability. I like being able to take my laptop with me on the go when I travel or simply when I move it from my office to the living room.

A desktop 5080 and a laptop 5080 are not equivalent. Because of its higher power limit and superior cooling, the desktop 5080 will give you 55% higher frame-rates than the laptop 5080.

I actually got the deal. It is the first time a local store actually had one in stock from all the refurb deals from Best Buy. It said only 1 left, so I was skeptical. But it gave me the option of delivery, so I ordered it. I woke up in the middle of the night to check the Brewers score, and I got a cancel email. I saw the local store still had it in stock so I ordered it. I was expecting another cancel email the next day, but I actually got a ready to pick up email. Happy with it. It seemed like a good deal.
