I bought this and just a heads up but the sides do not heat up enough to season it, even if you roll it around. My GF cooked one meal on it and hated it. I had high hopes for it but will be returning it.

My understanding was that woks are supposed to be hot on the bottom only. You can move cooked food out of the center / bottom to avoid burning it. Jonathan Kung (instagrammer) has mentioned this, as do the reddit reviews: https://www.reddit.com/r/Costco/c...p/mxfxaa2/

I bought this but wife felt bad using shiny new wok, so threw an old carbon steel/seasoned wok on it and worked wonderfully.

Electric wok don't get hot fast enough. I use a cast iron wok on my gas stove. It takes about 10 mins to heat up, and cooks like a non stick. My food gets a nice sear on then, close to how the chinese restaurant does it on their carbon steel wok. I have a carbon steel wok, but I dont have the flame needed for it to sear.

Electric no but induction does. They actually have started using them in a lot of kitchens now surprisingly.

I loved this wok. The speed of heating up is crazy fast, temperature is also high enough. I never go back my gas stove for wok any more.
