Given the fact they require you to buy a case of almost any product you pick (and 1/2 a case for the majority of the rest) the shipping isn't really the issue. You can always get it shipped free to your closest store for pickup but I don't need 24 bbq grill spatula's when I only want 1.

Used to be a $1. Then $1.25. Now everything in the store is $1.50+.

A lot of stuff is $1.75. I did the math on a lot of the things I used to buy there, cleaning products, TP, etc. and everything is now cheaper at walmart. And shipping is free with them if over $35, and you don't have to buy full cases.

I think Dollar Tree's days are numbered.

My favorite item from Dollar Tree: https://www.dollartree.com/product/841507 Bread & Butter Pickle Chips. But you don't have to buy online, they are available in store.

*sad face* for you.

It's handy for folk like my that only drinks milk on cereal, or needs it for cooking or to go with the occasional snack.

It's also good for emergencies. UHT (flash pasteurized) milk is a lot more common in Europe. I do chill my milk before drinking, out of preference.

This comes out to $5 a gallon. That's a fair price for convivence.

I agree, everything I used to casually get there is significantly cheaper elsewhere. That "break-even" point use to be with much larger quantities, but now it's with the same exact size of stuff they're selling.

For years, Dollar Tree has also been shrinking their products. An example: 8ct party bag of 2oz pretzels became 1oz bags, and then shrunk down to 6ct and then 5ct bags. Now the price for them is $2...instead of the $1 --> $1.25 that it used to be. Nearly 3x the cost factoring in shrinkage. But that's ok, "it's only 8% inflation! (remember that one?! 🤣) and they're made in the USA, so they're exempt from tariffs!". Sure. Right. Uh huh.

So I go to a walmart, buy a large sized bag, and ziplock what I need for a trip. And when THOSE prices get ridiculous, I just stop eating pretzels. Its ok. I grew up in hard times, I know how to do without.

Great for Hot Wheels collectors. Since you're technically not buying a sealed case but instead 72 cars... if you select ship to store there's like a 50% chance the store will offload its old picked through stock on you instead of giving you a fresh sealed case, but if you ship directly to your house it will always be a fresh case. Probably the only thing dollar tree is good for these days.

Their toilet paper downsized as well, I have a closet full I stocked during covid, as I replenish, I can see the size difference. about 1/4" shorter.

All the toilet paper is like that.

For a reason entirely upon myself for poor management/rotation of resources, I found a pack of Angel Soft "double" rolls back from roughly 2016 in our pantry. Other than a little dusty, they're still good and were put into service.

Interestingly enough, we compared them and learned they're about the same size as today's "mega" rolls. The megas clearly state that they're twice the size of the double. I somehow doubt that, Angel Soft.
