I know the Internet is just chock full of plumbing aficionados and they're right here in this thread... "they'll clog up the city's water system!!!!l"....like old plumbing systems and municipal water treatment is a hobby of theirs.
People flush all sorts of things. If some brands of flushable wipes actually disintegrate, how in the hell does anyone tell the difference between that and somebody flushing, say, Clorox wipes or paper towels that are not at all meant to be flushable. It's just survivorship bias.
Clean your little bits and pieces as you wish and flush away, says I.
