For anyone interested, couple of bestbuy locations are selling open box fair condition HW-Q930D soundbar for $350, which is a great price for a top end soundbar. Keep in mind it may not come with rear surround speakers as most fair condition openbox items miss out on additional accessories due to price being very low.

Given that it's open box, and discounted for a lower extended warranty price, what are people's thoughts about getting the 4 year warranty on this for 24.95. Will it just be old tech after two years anyway?

yeah, I've only ever bought a couple of open box items from Best Buy but they were, "excellent" condition and came like they were brand new. I wouldn't ever buy anything in, "fair" condition given the description of how it may or may not come. It is just too much of a roll of the dice for my taste

It's just a matter of luck. I have bought open box "excellent" items that were not in excellent condition. I also bought an oled TV in fair condition that had very minimal usage. I could see the amount of hours on the panel, and it was practically new.
