Been using these since 2018. Not the fastest speeds anymore, but has been very reliable. I upgraded to newer deco model when the main node bricked during a firmware update, but still use 2 of them

I used these for years with no problem. but this is a lot to pay for quite old wifi tech. I believe AC1300 was first launched as a standard in 2013. it is at least a decade old.

Strange why TP-Link "end of life'd" the Deco M9, which as far as I can tell, is the exact same as the M5 but triband. However, this M5 is still an actively supported product of theirs despite being older?

The last update for the deco M9 was in June/July of this year.

All respect not trying to start a troll war, but I know June '25 was the most recent M9 update as I am a M9 owner, but if you goto TP-Link's website for the M9 and M5, you'll see the M9 is EOL (end of life'd), while the older M5 model is still active which is why I was asking. Based on the EOL designation, I have to assume it's very soon to stop receiving any updates with the M5 not far behind? If not, why not? Which is why I was asking my original question since the M5 was released before the M9 and the only major difference between the two is an extra 5G band on the M9. Again, not trolling just asking. TIA.

Wifi 5? Hard pass.
There's 6, 6e, and 7 - this is 2.5 generations behind current tech. Needs to be 80 or less for this to make sense.
