they aren't as bad as their online rep but overall a disappointment. nothing terrible but not a compelling upgrade over the last couple of gens imo. Also it's a dead socket so this a one off with no option to drop in next gen CPUs.

Thanks, was waiting on a decent deal to build a new Plex server. The Killer NIC on this board has a bad rap, prepare to drop in a pcie NIC(im doing a sfp+ card) or a usb NIC if you experience dropouts. Built in wifi is also an alternative

Good for multi tasking, horrible for gaming. Dead platform, will receive no upgrades like AM5 AMD

this is the type of comment that gets made when what you say is based on YouTube videos rather than Real world experience. if somebody is playing at 1080p 240+fps and loading up the CPU. there is a difference compared to some of the high-end competitive gaming choices. that's not 99% of people. the overwhelming majority are going to be GPU limited. this chip has an excellent cinebench score. an excellent PassMark score. it's extremely good multitasking ability is actually a gaming bonus for your average user that is running multiple programs at the same time they are gaming. all the reviews and benchmarks that you watch are done running only one program on a fairly clean install of Windows. that's an extremely small segment of people who are going to utilize such things.

Intel raised the prices on Raptor Lake (14th Gen) because the demand for these is weak. Looks like they are also dropping prices on these. In gaming the 265K is couple percent slower than a i5-14600K which is only a $200 part. This price brings this chip in line.
