Finally went on sale! In for one, I don't think we'll see this price again until Black Friday.

Yes. M2 burrset, better workflow, possibly quieter (since burr is more efficient too), does spro more competently than Encore, extra features.

I've had the older version of this grinder since 2012, its amazing. I had to replace the motor once and the grinder, they sell all the parts on their website and its super easy to maintain. I use it 2-3 times a day every day for pour overs and cold brew.

I looked up a part number from and older thread and it said the part is out of stock. Is this one of those "easy to fix, but we never actually have parts" situations ?

What # setting do you have it on for these? I don't get consistent sizes for these (expected) but I've always wondered how "not the best" it is. Mine is about the same age.

What part were you looking for? I have the original Virtuoso and have been trying for a couple of years to buy the burr upgrade kit but it's perpetually 'out of stock'. My guess is that because the original Virtuoso has been discontinued Breville-Baratza don't support the old Virtuoso anymore, at least not as well as they used to, and they want you to buy this Virtuoso+. But I could be wrong. My previous experience when they were Baratza-Baratza was that support was stellar.

Espresso capable, but this is basically the starting point for espresso capable grinders. Not stepless, 40 grind settings mean a very narrow band of espresso range adjustability.

So couple things…My understanding is that since 2011 the originally named "Virtuoso" has had the M2 so make sure you really need it. There's a kit to upgrade the gearbox to support the burr if you upgrade it I think. They were happy to help me diagnose and give part numbers for my 2014 Virtuoso recently so I wouldn't worry much about support and parts since they're so common with the virtuoso +. I did get tired of waiting for the M2 burr to get stocked though so I bought a repair unit eBay that had a great burr.

Same price at a bunch of retailers.

I had a $15 Amex offer for sur la table which brings it down to 185

It might not help now, but I did manage to buy that burr upgrade kit in December 2024, after also thinking that it was always out of stock.
