The magnifica start is also on sale and is the updated version of this Evo model. I'd go for that instead. Also I own the start and love it! Makes great espresso, lattes, and capuchino. Those are the only ones I've made in it and they come out great.
So you mean the Start silver version in this link is an upgrade of evo silver? I saw the price is lower the evo

That's what I read. Google this: magnifica start vs evo
Besides these, the are essentially the same machine.

From what I gather, the Evo has a sensor that detects if the milk canister is empty, but there are some small issues with it, so that MIGHT be a plus to get the Start. The Start also doesn't have an Iced Coffee function...but I'm not sure what the Iced coffee function actually is on these machines? I THINK it outputs less hot espresso for iced drinks, but I'm not sure that's worth it, as that would probably produce some not great tasting espresso? Not sure on this.
Besides these, the are essentially the same machine.
Here's the quick take:
Magnifica Evo = more drinks & "My Latte" convenience; Magnifica Start = simpler, slightly more compact, lower-cost intro to the same core internals.
Big differences in action (maxed-out examples)
• You want an iced coffee or a one-button "drain-the-carafe" milk drink → Evo has an Iced Coffee preset and "My Latte" that uses all milk in the carafe; Start doesn't.
• You like more one-touch presets on the panel → Evo typically offers 6–7+ one-touch drinks (espresso, coffee, cappuccino, latte macchiato, iced, hot water, etc.); Start offers about 5 core one-touch drinks.
• You're bargain-hunting → Start models are usually priced lower; Evo often costs more (though sales happen—e.g., a recent ~$250 off deal).
Bottom line
• Pick Magnifica Evo if you want more one-touch variety (incl. iced) and the ultra-convenient My Latte.
• Pick Magnifica Start if you want De'Longhi's bean-to-cup experience at a lower price and don't need iced or My Latte.
"Over Ice is a proprietary recipe, developed in collaboration with baristas, to ensure a full-bodied, smooth ice coffee. This recipe brews at a slightly lower temperature, for optimal coffee extraction with an higher dosage of coffee grounds to offset any dilution that occurs from the ice. Fill your cup with ice, brew the espresso using the Over Ice button and finish it with adding more ice."
