Our verdict

The LV-H128 is too underpowered to clean the air in a small room.

It took two hours and 42 minutes to clean our test room, which is not good enough to tackle most of the pollutants you will encounter at home.

Including the diffuser is welcome, but more is needed to make this an air purifier we can recommend in 2023.

If this had a sensor and auto mode it would be great, just keep it on auto mode. However it doesn't just sleep (which I guess is very low and no light from the manual), low and high. I'd recommend just getting one that has a sensor and keeping it on auto, which would make this style of testing not the most applicable.

Another review from the other good purifier review site stating the same thing -- Almost none of these table top ones can really do a room above 50-100 sq ft.

https://www.airpurifierfirst.com/...t-lv-h128/
- It would be much better if the Levoit LV-H128 had a higher CADR, as this would increase its room coverage and allow it to distribute essential oils more quickly.
- This air purifier doesn't effectively remove smoke odors, unpleasant smells, or VOCs, likely due to its use of a fibrous carbon filter instead of a more efficient pellet-based one.
- In my experience, the filters need to be replaced more frequently than the manufacturer recommends.
- The LV-H128 is certainly an interesting device, but with a relatively low CADR of just 41 CFM (70 m³/h), it's designed to clean the air in a 64 sq. ft. (6 m²) room approximately 4.8 times per hour.

I have 2 of these, one in my son's room and one in ours. It's very quiet and seems to work well. Cheap filters on amazon too. I've been looking to upgrade to something with a sensor though.
