This is all 5 seasons of 50 minute episodes of Charlie's Angels. Yes, it is the classic, worth every penny.
Jaclyn Smith, Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, Cheryl Ladd, and John Forsythe.
Beautiful, intelligent and ultra-sophisticated, "Charlie's Angels" are everything a man could dream of...and way more than they could ever handle! Receiving their orders via speaker phone from their never seen boss, Charlie, the Angels employ their incomparable sleuthing and combat skills, as well as their lethal feminine charm, to crack even the most seemingly insurmountable of cases. Detective work never looked this good!
The Angels all drove Ford automobiles. Jill, and later Kris, drove a Cobra, Kelly drove a Mustang, and Sabrina drove a Pinto. For the record, Bosley drove a Thunderbird.
Jaclyn Smith and David Doyle are the only cast members to appear in all hundred sixteen episodes of the show. There was just one episode where, apart from the intro, John Forsythe's voice was not heard.
It was originally going to be called "Alley Cats"; it is unclear why, due the pejorative meaning of the term, and it having nothing to do with the classy detectives but, thankfully, Kate Jackson suggested "Charlie's Angels" after seeing a picture of angels in Aaron Spelling's office, and the rest is history.
Kelly Garrett ( Jaclyn Smith ) was the only Angel to last the entire series.
*** My favorite angel***
When the show first started both Farrah Fawcett and Jacklyn Smith were paid $5000 an episode, due to their limited experience as actresses, while the more experienced Kate Jackson was payed $10,000 an episode. Eventually as time went on Smith, who stayed with the show for all five seasons, salary grew so that by the fifth season she was making $75,000 an episode making her one of televisions highest paid stars. In fact only four other stars made more money than Smith that being Carroll O' Connor, Alan Alda, Larry Hagman, and Linda Gray.
This show was in the top ten for its first two seasons: 1976 to 1977 number five, 1977 to 1978 number four, competing in a three way tie with "60 Minutes (1968)" and "All in the Family (1971)." After season 3, when Kate Jackson left, the audience tired of repeat scripts of previously aired titles and episodes revolving around character Kris Monroe, and ratings dwindled.
Jaclyn Smith later made cameos in Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003) and Charlie's Angels (2019), two other different 'Charlie's Angels' incarnations.
