Today will be, go to any place that has orders in app. Takes away the anxiety of asking and looking like an idiot when they state they are not doing or have not heard about a promotion (probably did, but they want to make profit on this day).

I will probably not waste my time with the Krispy Kreme location nearest to me because they play dumb whenever I ask them if they are giving anything free; however, I just placed an order in app at Dunkin, drove their by 5 a.m. and I was the first one in line. The cost was 8 miles there and back for gas and $1.99+ sales tax for the Braided Apple Pie.

I just found out that I am going to have to panhandle for the free coffee and doughnut by the looks of the offer (no deal in app today).
I got the notification in the app. It says "Use Promo Code: COFFEE"
Edit: It is invalid.
So back to one having to go and ask and see if they will get a free doughnut and coffee. I am not doing it. I need to save myself from the anxiety and they sure has heck are not going to just be like, "HEY! Happy Coffee Day! Here is your free doughnut and coffee."

I got ya beat Trollski. I placed my order ahead in the Dunkin' app, too, I was the only person in line when I arrived. I had enough rewards points to get a S/E/C breakfast sandwich for free, med iced coffee (freebie today), and hash browns for a total cost .6 miles roundtrip for gas and $1.49+ sales tax.
are they handing out Free Doughnuts in-store to anyone passing by?

TYSM. I don't know why anyone is downvoting your comment about not risking it if it's not in the app. The employees of chains like this have said numerous times (to me) that they never know what promotions are going on. Time is money, a free coffee and donut are only worth so much to waste time in line to possibly look petty and/or waste money. I'm with you on confirming it's easily replicable before attempting.
I feel like a fly buzz trap, where they are attracted to me. The account name may not be helping.
I feel like if one were confident today and actually wanted to get freebies, one would hit up Smoothie King and Krispy Kreme. They are both doing "handshake" deals.
