I mean. It's now $1.25 and not $1. The difference is 50 cents for 6. I'm getting different brushes vs 1 or 2 types from the "dollar" store.

The 2 large brushes are really the only ones worth using. So DT may actually be better. This would be slick at $5-6. At $8 you're getting multiple useless brushes.
