If you sign up and use the first time buyer 10% off code at outboundpower.com, it brings the price down to $809.10. Also, military and first responders can use GovX to get a 10% off code. They have free shipping, 30 day free returns, and are an authorized dealer for all brands they sell. They do charge tax based on your state.

I think one scenario that would work (provided you indeed leave the portable unit behind) is to install a transfer switch (permiited/to code) and have this wired in to the input to a 'critical loads' panel. This would represent an upgrade (home improvement) to make the home more energy resilient to outages, while retaining the occasional portable use for camping, etc.

If you plug it into the wall outlet and leave it for the next guy it's installed. 😂

This should qualify for the 30% tax credit, right?

It meets the 3kwh requirement. Whether or not it's installed depends on how comfortable you are with it when you do your taxes and the risk of an audit (seems unlikely given that it's like $300 unless you're claiming a lot of grey area things)

The real question is what counts as installed.

My CPA says 'installed' means a home improvement, that conveys to the next owner. That is what the credit is supposed to offset, home energy improvements.

So this being something you'd certainly take with you if you moved, would it count? These are touted as portable devices.

It's the same price at many resellers (e.g. Outbound Power) which also add a 5% discount. I have not experience with either Pecron or Outbound Power. The Solar Lab suggests that you may get better support from a reseller though.

i hope pecron fixed their BMS. on an old pecron i bought, if you drained battery and did not charge fast enough, system bricked unless you disassembled to unplug and replug battery

also, no support on warranty after purchase (less than 1 year in)

I think buying on they official website is the best choice, because their warranty service only recognizes official orders, not responsible for the warranty of other third-party orders. In addition, their official website doesn't charge taxes and the prices are the lowest, there is no reason to buy from other third parties

Why do all the responses and feedback I've seen recently from them all suggest buying directly from the official website? They also have telephone customer service, so why go to a third party?
