Avoid the Fx-212 line. They are ARM based and seem to be End of Life. Doesn't look like Terramaster is going to update their ARM line anymore; they even launched an x86 budget line that seemed to replace these.

Just got Ugreen's DXP4000 Plus from BHPhoto. Was on sale, they knocked an additional $20 off and no sales tax with Payboo. Quite happy with it. Now I have to save up for four 26tb drives!

Is this the ATL price? I take it this is superior to the Ugreen DXP4800 Plus ?
wish they had a deeper discount on the F4-424 Pro 16G 4-Bay NAS

Here is a direct comparison between the TerraMaster F4-424 Max, TerraMaster F4-424 Pro, and Ugreen DXP4800 Plus based on hardware specifications, networking, expandability, and key features.
Key Feature Insights
  • Performance: The F4-424 Max stands out with its Intel i5 processor and dual 10GbE networking, offering much greater multitasking and faster data transfers, ideal for demanding workflows, video editing, and multitasking environments.
  • Networking: The F4-424 Max is the only one with dual 10GbE ports, supporting link aggregation for up to 20Gbps bandwidth. The Ugreen DXP4800 Plus has both 2.5GbE and 10GbE, while the F4-424 Pro is limited to 2.5GbE only.
  • Expandability: All models support dual M.2 NVMe (for cache or extra storage) and RAM expansion up to 64GB except the TerraMaster F4-424 Pro only up to 32GB and comes with 16GB default.
  • Software & Ecosystem: Both TerraMaster devices run TOS 6, which is functional but less mature than competitors' (e.g., Synology DSM), while Ugreen runs UGOS Pro, generally praised for ease of use but less app-rich.
  • Storage Capacity: Ugreen DXP4800 Plus leads with up to 136TB capacity; the TerraMaster models max out at 88TB, mainly due to drive bay/support limitations.
Which to Choose?
  • For fastest performance and networking, choose TerraMaster F4-424 Max if 10GbE and top-tier CPU are crucial.
  • For lower cost and solid media server capability, the F4-424 Pro is suitable but capped at 2.5GbE networking and slightly slower CPU.
  • For larger storage capacity, modern OS, and flexible connectivity (10GbE + 2.5GbE), the Ugreen DXP4800 Plus is strong, especially for users with massive data needs.
All three offer dual NVMe slots, DDR5 RAM, RAID, and strong media capabilities, but differ on CPU, network, and overall storage expandability.
