I bought one of these on the previous round of sales and love it. Great TV for bright rooms. The TV also cranks out deep black and vivid colors quite nicely. Closest to the OLEDs I have seen. Worth a look for those interested...

Agreed.
And the YouTubers I trust: Caleb/Brian/Fomo says a little tweak on the black crush & oversaturation processing (ie firmware update) & it's there with OLED.

Of course the Cinematic-ness of OLED is unattainable IMO.

You will be waiting a long time, probably forever. The 2024 85 model still goes for $1800, the 2023 85 goes for $1650 at the moment. The only chance that the 85 goes for $1000 is individual store clearances.
