A standard fridge is usually 5-6 inches deeper, which gives you 7-8 more cubic feet of room inside.
The only reason to get a counter depth fridge is that your kitchen is either tiny or badly designed, and standard depth blocks access to a doorway or sticks out so far that it's in the way.

This means a "counter depth" fridge is SMALL.
A standard fridge is usually 5-6 inches deeper, which gives you 7-8 more cubic feet of room inside.
The only reason to get a counter depth fridge is that your kitchen is either tiny or badly designed, and standard depth blocks access to a doorway or sticks out so far that it's in the way.
The very thin plastic vegetable bin drawer rail cracked after about 2 years and was replaced.
At about 5 years, the fan inside the refrigerator side (evaporator fan) failed--again it was much FASTER to fix it myself versus waiting to get service under warranty, the painted shelf brackets were rusting, and the inside condensate drain pan (for the self-defrost) also rusted out.
This fridge replaced a 25+ yr old Whirlpool refrigerator--I do not expect it last anywhere as long.
This particular KA refrigerator looks to be very similar to another Whirlpool fridge but with fancier handles, a few more lights and fancier shelves--made out of the same very thin plastic. The internals (compressor, fan, coils, etc. appear to be identical). The KitchenAid even has the same design fault with the door wiring that will likely eventually lead to broken connections and failed ice maker--a design problem they have not fixed in over 25 yrs.
KitchenAid used to be a premium product and brand. Now it is just a higher margin version of the similar lower priced Whirlpool products.
