It's $129.00 at the 10 closest stores to me in the Denver metro area, at least according to the website. The website does confirm OP's price and clearance in a specific store in Pittsburg (zip 94565), but no where else I've looked.
FYI to check prices I clicked the Check Nearby Stores button then added one to my cart from each of the stores. Adding to cart should be unnecessary because a little clearance logo showed up next to that Pittsburg store.

I suspect the competition is stiff in your location. Makes it hard to get a ridgid deal.
I went to my store even though it was like 90 degrees. It was $64, so they're trying to screw people. I tried to be polite and ask for them to adjust the price for me, but obviously that wasn't the right angle cause they wouldn't budge. He said he would check with the manager and he'd be back in a bit. I said appreciate it, that would be clutch— make sure you really hammer him on it until he agrees. Asked if it it came with a battery. He said only if he pops his mouth off... Didn't want to miss anything so I got my cam out and followed him.Turns out he didn't check anything- he just went out back to smoke a cigarette and never came back. What a dick.

I waited 30 minutes for someone to open a case to get something for me. I had nothing better to do and I was curious how long it would really take. Every 5 minutes the person I originally talked to would come by and say it would be a little longer. Eventually I got bored and left. Now I don't do anything at Home Depot that requires a person. Lowes employees always seem to be better for advice anyway.
For one clearance item sometimes multiple clearance prices exist. It is 100% dependendant on the store, the manager, and inventory most of all. Even though OP says $50 at their store "your mileage may vary". Why is this so difficult to understand? It's $64 at one store close to me and regular price everywhere else.

If I need anything that is behind lock and key i always buy online for store pickup and they stuff it in one of their lockers by the front door. Much easier than waiting around for them to actually help you.
