This comes with the Sync Module Core. Without a subscription, your doorbell will have very limited features. Those who want to use local storage will want to buy a bundle that comes with the Sync Module XR. Fortunately, those bundles are steeply discounted right now.

If you have a grandfathered account and have less than five sync modules (aka "systems") attached to your account, then adding the Core sync module to your account will give you an additional two hours of online storage. Otherwise without a subscription, these Core sync modules are fairly useless. If you're new to Blink or need more sync modules that store clips locally, do yourself a favor and only buy bundles with the Sync Module 2 or Sync Module XR.

I've had a ring door bell before and now this one. Ring door bells cannot store videos locally. You have to pay a monthly subscription to store videos on their cloud servers.
On the other hand, Blink door bells can store video files locally on a hub that may or may not come with your purchase. However Blink door bells have a big design flaw. Blink uses batteries in their units as the main power supply, even if they are connected to your household door bell power supply wires. Batterie run out of juice pretty quickly. You have to change batteries very 1-2 months. After a while, you get tired of this deficiency.

Your two lowest cost options if you want the doorbell and extra features ( i.e. motion detection, live view streaming, etc).

Option 1: Get the doorbell with the Sync Module Core, and pay $3 a month to access the features;

Option 2: $74.99 Video Doorbell + Outdoor 4 Camera + Sync Module XR https://www.amazon.com/Blink-Door...57LB/?th=1 and 256gb max external storage (USB or MicroSD).

There are currently no deals for the standalone sync module 2 or sync module xr, and there are no deals for just the doorbell and either of the sync modules just mentioned.

don't buy these products that require a monthly sub, get one like Tapo that supports SD card and can be hard wired.
