I ordered this same item from the sister site morningsave

The good: does 24V5A for over an hour (was only 23V by end of test)

The bad: temp was 92C when I decided to end the test

Just a note that this charger has the UL stamp on it.

Thanks for the info. Good to know that I can use it charge the laptop and keep the coffee warm at the same time.

Too bad it doesn't have a swivel on it. You'd be able to set your cup on it and use it as a warmer.

Would have thought that all chargers get hot when used at max draw for extended periods? How do regular laptop chargers stay cool? Maybe that is why they need the large brick.

Yes and no, larger device=more surface area so larger radiative/ convective cooling. No because laptop bricks are build with "old" tech and these smaller ones are using the latest rage of semiconductors GaN (gallium nitride, it's actually been around awhile) which is more efficient for power electronics than silicon based and can be smaller yet do the same as large silicon devices

When a charger get too hot it shut down to prevent fire. When a charge hit a certain temperature, it throttle down the wattage to prevent damage to it.

Good chargers will keep a constant max load without throttle down wattage or shut down.

There is a YouTube channel called allthingsoneplace that do testing on chargers and related equipments. It's a very good YouTube channel.

The old big laptop chargers are very inefficient. It's why they are slowly being phased out.

Per ChatGPT...

A 140W charger will become warm, with surface temperatures around 50-60°C (122-140°F), and may reach higher, even up to 71-81°C (160-178°F) under high-load conditions. While being too hot to comfortably hold is a sign of an issue, temperatures below the regulatory limit of 77°C (170°F) are generally acceptable, though excessively hot chargers can indicate a problem, such as overloading or poor quality, and should be monitored

No GaN, so I'm assuming a temperature of 92C when fully loaded is 'normal', if you want cooler, then pay for a GaN.
If the temperature breaks 95C then indeed there is a problem.

My 140w compact GaN Anker charger normally gets pretty hot even when drawing 50ish watts for a while. I'm not sure there's anyway around the charging block not getting hot on these compact high wattage GaN chargers.

Fyi, these are GaN chargers. At least that is what is advertised on the webpage.

i bought these from a sister site last time it was posted. just fyi these will charge at 140w a macbook pro, and 65w an ROG Ally -- but when both are connected the macbook got 65w and the Ally got 35w. Same with phone, 25w to Samsung Fold and 65w to Ally - but when both are connected it was 25w to Samsung and 35w to Ally.
I was able to get two 65watt outputs using other devices, but for some reason it won't charge the Ally at the right speed when anything else is connected. Really annoying

I ordered a pair of these. Hopefully they work well. I'm more interested in using both ports at 65w than one or the other at 140w or 100w.
