I bought these the last time they were this price, ended up returning them after a few months. Not because of sound, they sounded great, but as a computer speaker on mac there were just too many compromises and annoyances.

Not ideal for use as computer speakers, they turn off quickly when not in use, like use your computer for 5 minutes without sound output then try to play something and the damn speakers have turned off. id always have to switch to them as the sound output, over and over again, every time i wake up the computer from sleep. Did not play well with mac, buyer beware. Outside of computer use im sure they are just fine.

All that being said i downgraded back to my Edifiers that have none of these issues and im really just as happy sound wise, they sound different but just as good to me.

It's not expensive compared to HomePods. Those are about $300 each. This is $600 for two speakers, which is the same price per speaker.
I have a HomePod -- it sounds great. I also have some KEF speakers -- they sound great. I'd take this deal any day over a pair of HomePods though.
Although, I'd rather buy unpowered speakers and a small amp instead.

Kef keeps dumping them in Costco. There must be a new model coming. But for $600, t it is a steal regardless of the future model.

No you'd use the hdmi arc port on your TV to these speakers. Blutooth will have lag. But you don't need a receiver these have an hdmi arc port.

I honestly can't believe that after owning ML that you'd still have any Klipsch in your home. Klipsch are so shrill. Way too sibilant. Meanwhile I absolutely love the folded motion tweeter on ML speakers. ...their electrostats sound great too, but that focused sweet spot isn't for me.

You can, but it's a bad idea. Bluetooth has lag and it's a lossy format. If your TV has HDMI ARC, which most modern TVs do, that's the best way to connect these. If it's and older TV without ARC, the Toslink optical input is the second best option.

Yes. Just plug the sub out from these to the LFE in on the subwoofer with a single RCA cable. IIRC, that model comes with a wireless adapter, too. It should work the same way, but I can't comment on quality. I tried a Klipsch sub with a wireless adapter years ago and it sucked - there was a very slight, but noticeable delay in the bass response that made music sound just off. Connecting it directly solved the issue. But, that was nearly a decade ago. Hopefully they've improved since then - so it may or may not still be a concern.

When I have large expense coming, discount show up. It is great and reliable speaker on market. I will get that. the only speaker win is B&W.

Commenting here as someone that purchased this on the same deal maybe a few months back. I use it for my office. $600 is a lot for speakers so I thought I would try it out and see if they are actually good or not. After using these extensively, I can say they really are pretty great. The sound quality is great. Is it worth $600? I am not sure but if you're looking for good sound, these ones do the job.

I am looking for a KEF Kube 8/10 to complete the subwoofer experience. The bass is fine but just looking for something extra incase.

If you are trying to pair this into a living room or something I would probably get a subwoofer.

Hope that helps anyone on the fence with getting these. For my office they are perfect.


edit: I believe there is a sound break-in period. After a month the sound actually got a little better; it's super crisp.

good price... yes it's on the high side but your getting high end active speakers... super detailed. add a sub if you need for bottom end but overall it's a great listen experience.
