ANYCUBIC Kobra 3 Combo AE Version Multi-Color FDM 3D Printer Max 600mm/s Printing Speed Build Size 250x250x260mm

The great thing about this package is that the flimament manager box is also a dryer so you can dry your filament for the best results. Separate 4 count filament dryers cost another $100 or so.

Last sale they were sending v2 printers. I'm not sure if these will be v2 or v1 printers.

I'm brand new to 3d printing, bought this on the last deal and absolutely love it. Supposedly they send the kobra 3 v2 when they run out of v1s but on the last thread every person who commented had gotten a v2 (including me). If you message the seller they'll tell you. The only time it has messed up for me was 1) when I first got it I printed straight from my phone and did stuff without supports (not everything needs it but if you see an error in the software just do what it says and you'll be fine), and 2) once after I powered it down for a while something weird happened and it couldn't level correctly. I had to do a factory reset but after that everything was flawless. The only thing I'll say is multi color printing seems very wasteful but I haven't played much with the settings and I know you can reduce the amount of purge between colors and other things.

Deal is dead. I think I purchased the last one at $234 because it said only 1 left before I bought it. As soon as I placed the order, price on the website jumped to $297.51. Of course, the $35 off $269 coupon can be applied now bringing the final price to $262.50 which is about $28 more than this deal price.
FWIW I ordered one about 20 min ago, but it was also "last one left" (shades of Temu)

This or the Centuri Carbon as a first printer?
Bedslinger vs enclosed coreXY. Both could be the right answer depending on what you're looking to do with them. I have an A1 combo and an ECC. There are benefits to both. That being said, I've had my Elegoo about 3 weeks and I'm already over 300 hours print time with not a single complaint, so I can definitely vouch for the Elegoo. It's certainly more versatile, and it will have a multi color option available in the near future. When it's released I'll probably buy another CC with the combo. It's a beast of a printer for $299.
Is it more cost effictive for me to wait for the combo or buy the CC now and the multi-color box when it comes out ?

It'll almost certainly be a little cheaper to wait and get a combo versus buying each individually but, that being said, I've already paid for my printer just in things I've printed for others since I got it.

I don't know people who would want to buy things that I would print, is it easy to find them?

Be careful with Ali Express site -- big bait and switch -- they even change the product page and you can never prove what you purchased!

I with the ECC would have been my first printer. Single Color, but I've been super happy just loading the filament and printing. No messing with anything, 100x better than the Ender 3 (my first printer) but it did make me learn a LOT about printers and printing. But, if you NEED a multi-color printer, the ECC isn't the one.

Ok, I bought one of these and have been using it for a week now. Here are my honest thoughts and struggles. I'm not a diehard 3D printer expert, nor do I use one everyday. Sometimes I'll go months without printing. And I'm not the type to just want to mod things/make upgrades. I am happy enough with "good enough" most of the time.

Background: I've owned two Ender 3 Pro's since 2019, so I'm painfully capable of working through issues to get a decent print.

The Good:
  • I received the v2 version, as has been mentioned. Bonus!
  • Auto-leveling works well, but I've had it give me a few "error" messages while leveling, seemingly for no good reason
  • Benchy and other test prints were fantastic! VERY impressed at it's ability to bridge without stringing, etc. Very clean prints so far, with both PLA and PETG.
  • AnycubicSlicer NEXT is...meh. It's based on Orcaslicer, which is apparently solid. But I dont find things to be very intuitive so far. I'm sure I'll get better at it though the more I use it. I just don't like it in general. I've been a Cura user for years now and it's been solid and very easy to use. (Yes, this is a ME problem - not necessarily the printer).
  • Cloud integration is pretty nice and works pretty well, tbh. I'm able to download files from any of my devices (including mobile), and upload it to AnycubicSlicer NEXT and start printing it all from my phone/computer. Yes, this has been pretty standard for years now - but it's new to me and it all works very well.
  • Camera is included, but you have to print the mount and case/shell for the camera.
The Bad:
  • Holy hell this thing takes forever to get a print started. Autoleveling process takes a long time. Ace Pro takes a long time to retract the 3 spools not in use (one at a time), and to start feeding the 1 spool being used. Just in general, lots of extended pauses in between steps...they all add up. (whereas with my Ender 3, I was printing within a minute or two including heating time).
  • ACE Pro has given me issues with feeding filament from 2 of the spots. You're supposed to be able to just gently insert the filament into the hole and it "grabs it and sucks it in". Which it does. But on 2 of the 4 spots, it doesn't feed the filament into the internal PTFE tube (which then gets pushed out to the printer)...it somehow misses the tube altogether and the filament literally goes rogue and is fed into the inner-workings of the ACE PRO (touching the fans, other wiring inside, etc. If you manually continue to feed the filament it sometimes comes snaking up through a random opening. I've spent probably 3-4 hours troubleshooting this thing, including taking it apart to see what the heck the problem is. I honestly can't see what the issue is though, and it's frustrating. I just want it to...work. I was eventually able to get 1 of the 2 trouble positions to feed through correctly, but only after significant finagling of the filament angles. I dont want to have to do this every time...
  • ACE Pro heating function is controlled by the printer itself, which means the printer has to be on for hours as well if you just want to "dry" some filament before actually printing with it. Would be nice to have independent control of the ACE Pro unit.
  • I'm not convinced the ACE Pro does a great job at removing humidity...there are no holes inside to let the moisture escape the enclosure. I'm not an engineer though - maybe I'm just wrong. But many others also have this concern from what I've seen.
  • Nozzle Clogs - I printed a few PLA+ prints successfully, so then decided to try PETG. It also printed successfully, but when I went to print my next print in PLA again, I got immediate nozzle clog issues. Having to work through the usual unclogging/ potential nozzle replacement.
  • The cable management is...messy. The USB ports are on the front right of the printer. The camera and ACE PRO are meant to go on the left side, which means you have cables running from right to left across the front of the machine. I'm sure I can tidy it up a bit, but I feel like they could have done a bit of a better job here.
  • Camera quality is terrible, and the angle it's mounted at is pretty poor. Framerate is terrible too, but i'm not sure how this stacks up to other printers. It may be just "average" here.
Conclusion: For the price I paid (under $200 with cashback offers...) it's a massive upgrade overall to my (stock) Ender 3 Pro's. I love all of the "cloud" features and being able to download/slice/print via mobile. I'd probably buy it again. But - for $250'ish - I'd honestly think long and hard about getting a Bambu A1 for $350 (yes, you don't get the filament dryer with it. But I'm not convinced the ACE Pro is very effective in general without some modifications)

Would it be possible to utilize the included dryer with the FLASHFORGE AD5X?

Looking at the photo, I only see one tube going from the dryer to the printer, so I wasn't sure.
No. The ACE PRO unit is fully controlled by the printer itself. Must be plugged into an Anycubic printer.

make sure you really want this printer. because returning it will be a hassle with aliexpress. You might have pay for the shipping to return it and hope everything goes well and AliExpress actually give you a refund for the printer and the shipping cost

otherwise great deal and good printer. Got it during the last deal but decided to go with A1 with AMS.
They are really bad with returns -- most horrible expreience

They do it about 20 times a day -- they are bad because Ali Express and all vendors including AliExpress change screens every few minutes. They can claim you bought something different than what you thought you clicked and paid for!
