Still a swanson speed square fan, but these are nice. The swansons don't fade/scratch away due to the deeper grooves/casting vs laser etched like this.
Also (bundled with the smaller 4.5" one) been part of the bundles where you can choose 3-4 different items at about $10/ea. Haven't seen those in a while though.
Mixed feelings about aluminum squares. These are nicely made, but if you drop them, they can dent/deform & basically be trash at that point. Plastic don't tend to have this problem (yes, they can crack instead, but that usually takes more force/impact than it takes to bend aluminum).
I got mine, and if you put them back to back, at least on of them is not square, and they both have a bit of a bend. I checked these out in the store and noticed the same problem. I suppose these are good enough for most purposes, but precision is not one of them.
