This was the original MSRP.... A STEAM DECK OLED is the same price
Not worth it for this aku
IMHO, I prefer this hardware over the SD. Even though the SD has OLED, the screen on the on the Legion Go S is better IMHO. The Legion Go S offers a much better experience.
I have the Legion Go S (Z1E / Windows) and its better than my OG Ally, that I got after selling my launch SD. The The ergos for the Legion Go are so comfortable in the hand, and I think that the screen being taller gives more vertical room for my hands.
8" Screen (vs 7" in SD, 7.4" for OLED)
1200p screen (vs 800p in SD)
120Hz screen (vs 60hz LCD SD and 90hz OLED)
VRR (SD doesn't have VRR to combat screen tearing)
Hall Effect Joysticks and Triggers (SD doesn't have)
Adjustable throw for triggers (SD doesn't have)
Mini Touchpad (Not as good as SD, but its there)
2x USB4 40Gb/s ports for Power Delivery and eGPUs) Having the ability to use and eGPU can open so many possiblities. This can be used as a true Gaming Desktop computer.
* I don't know if eGPUs work the same in Linux though... Truth be told. So, it might not be an issue.

But, different strokes for different folks.
Stick drift is not an issue on SD. There are other solutions besides Hall Effect. The trackpad on a Go S isn't just "not as good". It simply cannot provide close to the level of functionality of the SD trackpads. Your other points are spot on.

I agree with this. The biggest down side for the Go S Z1E I have, is the battery, I wish it were at least 70 Watt Hours. Everything else might be the best combination of features out there.

just a reminder that pushing 120hz on 1200p on devices with this power envelope is moot...
mini touch pad is not the same as the STEAMDECK in any way.... no idea why you even compared them
