SD staff seems desperate for content today... Why is this posted as a deal when this is the retail price?

Deal still live for me. I bought the 512GB card for this exact price in July and have been using it with my Switch 2 since. While some Switch and tech YouTube channels have compared it to other brands of microSDXC Express cards and found it to be slightly slower, in my personal experience the load times are ok and it's been a very cost effective way to greatly expand the Switch 2's memory. Specific to Switch 2 something to note is that only the Game data is saved on this card, not the save data which is saved to the internal memory.

Cause is hard to find. When it becomes instock, it sell out within minutes. This is the cheapest 512gb microsd EX comparable with the switch 2.

Yeah I get that it's hard to find, but the site is called slickdeals, not back in stock tracker.

Camera manufacturers have already moved on to CFExpress.

Kinda. Adoption is all over the place and there's CFExpress Type A and B, though only Sony really uses the Type A cards (though it allows them to use the same slot for SD cards).

But most cameras still don't have dual CFExpress slots, it's usually a SD card and a CFExpress. And there's still a lot of cameras with SD card only.

SDExpress is also significantly cheaper than either CFExpress option so I'm hoping it becomes an option.

It's kinda a deal to get the same performance and larger capacity for less when you compare between the brands I guess.

Not really. Some cameras use CFexpress but others purposfully gimp their cameras to use SD card only for various reasons. The new Canon C80 ($5,500 camera) still uses SD card only.

Fair, but compare it to Best Buy's 128GB for $54, 256GB for $60 or $73, and 512GB for $120.

This is (1) not a brand/source people normally think of, (2) much better priced than the few others in stock elsewhere, and (3) hard to find in stock. It's not much better or worse than a price controlled good - say, a Mac Mini or Legos - being 5-10% off.

That being said, these are rated about 10% lower max read/write speed than the Sandisk at BestBuy [bestbuy.com].

Not unless your phone or camera specifically says it works with SD Express. I don't know of any that do. Although you would think cameras and camcorders would have to soon. I surprised those things write to a regular SD at 4k.

Ugh WHY is Nintendo like this?? It would be extremely easy for them to create a solution to enable local offline save backups, but literally the only way for Switch owners to back up their save data is to fork over the monthly fee for Nintendo Switch Online. Don't want to pay the monthly fee, and your Switch ends up defective/lost/broken? Too bad, Nintendo could care less about the potentially hundreds of lost playtime hours in your saves since you don't want to continuously pay them money IN ADDITION to the $500 you spent on their console and the ridiculous $80 game MSRPs. Seriously, screw Nintendo for this kind of crap, it's so blatantly anti-consumer and really shows the only thing they could care about their customers.
