This has happened to be before with plenty of garmins. Fully reset that watch. Attach it to a PC, delete EVERYTHING that you can see in windows explorer. Then do a factory reset on watch. Set it up again and I guarantee your battery will be back to normal.

Epix has been discontinued, FWIW, so it may end of life sooner than a Fenix or other line.

so have the Fenix 7s and older. still a good watch that'll last for years. I bought the 51mm version of this for $429 a month ago.

Have you found the UI to be sluggish or laggy?

nah, I had a Forerunner 255 before and it's basically the same as that was just more features.

Battery on my 955 has taken a nosedive recently and I got the same $500 Epix offer from Garmin a couple of weeks ago but this was my concern. Not a dealbreaker as I'm really debating if it's worth buying another watch when this one works but needs a charge 2-3x week now.

I don't think that will have any effect on this watch, knowing Garmin

The Epix Gen 2 has slightly more premium features, but the Fenix E is functionally nearly identical, just with a more modern build and longer update life.

Fenix E has older version HR sensor with no ECG function.
